If so, you’re in the right place because I’m about to spill the beans on the extensive research I have carried out on the content creation service over the past few weeks. What you’re about to read could save you money, time, and a lot of hassle.

  • How to use the service
  • Plus much more

Whether you’re a small business looking for quality content, or a professional writer looking to earn some money, this Contentfly review is for you.

Let’s get started.

What Is Contentfly?

Contentfly is an online writing site that provides web content in multiple niche markets to its members.

They charge a monthly fee for a set amount of words, and the content gets delivered to the client regularly.

In addition to providing content, they also offer paid writing roles for freelance writers to make some money — yes, they’re the writers who will be writing the content for the clients.

This Contentfly review will look at both sides of the coin, and reading it will benefit both the buyer and the content writer.

But first, let’s concentrate on using the service as a content buyer.

Contentfly For Buyers

Creating content can be difficult for many people, mainly because of a lack of time and ability to produce high-quality content. If you run a blog or business that requires content, you have two main choices: write it yourself or pay someone to write it for you.

Writing it yourself is self-explanatory — simple, write it. However, finding and paying others to do it for you isn’t as easy as it looks because good writers are hard to find.

As a result, many people turn to agency services like Contentfly. These writing services promise you quality content for a set fee and take a portion of that fee to pay their writers to produce the content.

Often, it can work out great, but sometimes it can be a disaster. So, again, it depends on the agency and the writer’s skills.

Is The Content Good Quality On Contentfly?

If you read the sales page on the website, Contentfly states that they only use the top 1% of writers, and each writer has to go through a quality inspection process before being accepted.

While the latter is valid to so some extent (they do ask for writing samples before accepting writers), the suggestion that they only use the top 1% of writers is hard to take — how do they know that they’re using the top 1% of all content writers?

Contentfly states that the editing team checks all articles for the following:

  • The overall quality of the writing
  • Whether it adheres to the content brief
  • If it has been SEO-optimized

They allow unlimited revisions and offer a money-back guarantee for the first 4,000 words of your account, so you would think that there’s a good chance of receiving quality content.

The truth?

During my research on various blogs and websites like Trustpilot, I concluded that the general feeling was that the content was OK. Not fantastic, but just OK.

Another way I checked out the quality of the content was through their free samples of writing on the website. I took an article and pasted it into Grammarly, and the result was a score of 73 out of 100, with a few grammar errors.

When you realize that the samples they are providing are probably from their better writers, it gives you a better understanding of the quality to expect.

Contentfly Buying Process

Buying the content is a simple enough process. You select the type of content you want, the word count you require, and upload your content brief for the writing client to follow.

The writer assigned the job will read your content brief and work on your article.

What Is The Estimated Turnaround Time?

The estimated time to receive your content varies, but typically a writer will finish a 1,000-word piece of content within five working days.

Contentfly Prices

The price starts at $300 per month for 4,000 words of content and rises in price as you increase the word count. The price includes revisions, royalty-free images, and research.

The table below shows estimated costs for various word counts.

Contentfly Pricing

Words Price USD Per Month
4000 $300
8000 $600
16000 $1200
32000 $2400

Contentfly Writing Process

The second part of this Contentfly review focuses on the writing process, mainly whether it’s worth becoming a content writer for them.

Freelance writers get the chance to find regular work and earn decent money, so let’s take a closer look.

How Do You Join Contentfly As A Writer?

First, you need to apply, upload samples of your previous work, and then wait for them to contact you.

If they like your writing samples, you will write a test article, and if all goes well, you will get accepted as a writer.

You can then view the dashboard and search for work.

Contentfly Writing Process And Guidelines

Visit the dashboard and claim the jobs you want. You then read the content brief and write the content within the deadline.

If the client is pleased with your work, they will likely label you as a favorite writer, which could mean ongoing retainer work.

The work needs to be optimized for the search engines and include everything the client has requested in the content brief.

In addition, the client can ask for unlimited revisions, so write as clearly and error-free as possible.

How Much Work Can You Get Writing For Contently?

It depends; you will first be on probation, so some jobs won’t even show up on the dashboard.

However, if you show your worth as a good writer, meet deadlines, and stick to the writing guidelines, you should be able to get a fair bit of work each month.

Contentfly and the clients will rate you as a writer. The higher the rating, the better time you will have as a writer on the platform.

There are three rating tiers and scores:

  1. Tier 1 – 9/10
  2. Tier 2 – 7/8
  3. Tier 3 – 5/6

The higher your rating is will determine how much work you get.

How Much Do You Make On Contentfly?

The pay varies depending on your experience and skill level.

Typically, you will receive $0.05 per word (which isn’t bad for an agency), but this could rise up to $0.30 per word (You would have to be exceptional) if you show yourself as a skilled writer.

You get paid via bank transfer, and there is a small bank fee of around $1 for each transaction.

Contentfly Alternatives

As mentioned previously, using content agencies is hit and miss, so here are a few alternative companies for getting good content and finding quality writers:

  • Job boards
  • iWriter
  • Upwork
  • Fiverr
  • Contently

Is Contentfly Good? Final Thoughts

After writing the Contentfly review, my overall thoughts are that it’s a trusted company. It will serve a purpose for some business owners and freelance writers.

It’s not the best quality in the world, and as a writer, you can find better clients to work for. But if you’re looking for a simple solution for your content purposes, it’s worth considering as a temporary solution.

However, with regard to those buying content, my advice would be to try and build your content writing team by finding writers through job boards. This will save you money in the long run. Plus, you’ll know for sure (after testing them) that the writer you’re using is producing the goods.

A 2,000-word article on Contentfly would cost you $150, which is 7.5 cents per word. If you paid this for a writer on a job board, you would get better content, in my opinion, and be in total control of your content team.
